Dana White provides update on Tyson Fury's future in UFC after Deontay Wilder fight

UFC president Dana White believes Tyson Fury could be tempted to switch codes but thinks the fights may end up not beung lucrative enough for him.

The Gypsy King is currently fully focused on training for his upcoming heavyweight bout against Deontay Wilder in February, but has hinted at his interest in UFC in the past.

UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic has expressed his desire to take on Fury, but speaking to BT Sport White appeared to pour cold water on the prospect.

“I’d love to have him over here to fight but why? Why, when he’s got all that money in front of him?” White said,

Tyson Fury could make the switch to UFC in the future

“I’ll see how it all plays out. But I do like him and I think that he’s one of the best boxers in the world. I saw him say he’s done some kickboxing and he’s been training with [British UFC fighter Darren] Till.

“It’s like my guys saying they’ve done some boxing. This is what these guys do, it’s what they’ve done for a very long time and I think he has a rough go of it over here”

White’s respect for Fury is clear, and he went on to say he could even be the best boxer in the world currently.

He added: “Right now I see him as one of the best in the world, arguably the best in the world. After seeing the Joshua fight, I think it’s [Fury] and Deontay Wilder who are the two best in the world.

“There are so many big fights for him over the next two or three years in boxing. If you play out the fights with all the top guys right now, there’s a lot of money there. I can see that playing out over two-and-a-half, three years.”
