Last night, Matt Hancock announced his resignation following a video of emerging of him kissing an aide. Now, BBC’s Dan Walker has taken to social media, sharing a clip of the former Health Secretary discussing social distancing.
Mr Hancock, 42, was seen on camera hugging and kissing an aide, despite social distancing guidelines being in place.
During the height of the pandemic, he urged Brits to remain two meters away from people, not to mix with other households and casual sex was banned.
While appearing on BBC Breakfast in February 2021, Hancock revealed that Brits should avoid hugging people outside of their households until at least May 17.
Hancock said that this date was crucial in order to avoid spreading coronavirus through close contact.

In view of his 715,000 Twitter followers, Dan shared the video alongside the caption: “Matt Hancock was asked specifically about when we would be able to hug back in February on #BBCbreakfast.
“This is what he had to say…”
During the clip, Breakfast anchor Charlie Stayt asked the former Health Secretary: “There are specific dates attached to when you will be allowed to hug.
“Now looking through the detail — the suggestion is that hugging should be as soon as possible but no later than May the 17th, is that right?”

Mr Hancock replied: “Yes, that’s right and that’s the same date which you’ll be able to travel and stay overnight, that’s in step three which is obviously five weeks after the step two changes we were talking about a moment ago.
“We know that close contact is how this disease is passed on and so the reason for that timing is, by then, all of the most vulnerable groups will have been able to have two jabs.”
He added: “We know from the data that the first jab is very protective in helping to protect you against catching covid, hospitalisation, or, of course, dying from it.
“The second jab adds to that protection but we do want to be cautious until the most vulnerable groups have been able to have both of those doses.”

While the country was gripped by the virus, Brits were not allowed to mix outside of their households, were encouraged to work from home and face coverings became compulsory.
However, footage obtained by The Sun newspaper showed Mr Hancock embracing his senior aide, Gina Coladangelo, despite both being married.
Just 24 hours after admitting he breached his own guidelines, Hancock apologised — with the Prime Minister saying that the “matter was closed”.
Yesterday evening, Mr Hancock resigned from his role as Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.
In a video released to his Twitter page, he said: “I’ve been to see the Prime Minister to resign as Secretary of State for Health and Social Care. I understand the enormous sacrifices that everybody in this country has made, that you have made.
“Those of us who make these rules have got to stick by them and that’s why I’ve got to resign.”
He added that it had been “the honour of my life” to serve in the cabinet and was “incredibly proud” of what the government had achieved.
In response, the Prime Minister wrote: “You should leave office very proud of what you have achieved – not just in tackling the pandemic, but even before Covid-19 struck us.”
