Posting to his 577,000 followers on Twitter Dan announced that he had already begun his Christmas preparations. In the image, Dan posted a picture of an apparent homemade mince pie in his hand. Accompanying the tweet, Dan wished his followers “Merry Christmas” to which he added a Christmas tree and a shocked face emoji.
Quickly, fans of the BBC broadcaster commented criticising the presenter for already celebrating Christmas in September.
Matthew Illingworth said: “Hang your head in shame.”
Another user said: “No Dan. That is so wrong.”
However, some users did welcome the picture as they insisted that is never too early to have the Christmas treat.
One user supported Dan by saying: “Nice! Hoping the shops start stocking them within next couple of weeks, then it’s mince pies all the way to new year (at least 2 boxes a week).”

Quickly, Dan replied by listing out his top three chocolate bars.

Another Twitter user reacted in hilarity and shock at his favourite chocolate treat choices.
