Dan Walker: ‘Best experience ever’ BBC Breakfast star shares ‘bonkers’ memory with fans

Dan Walker is an active Twitter user and often tweets updates to his loyal following. Yesterday he retweeted an image shared by one of his fans of him on what appears to be the popular Copacabana Beach in Brazil’s busy Rio de Janeiro. Sharing the image while tagging Dan so he could see the message, the Twitter user wrote: “Just came across this in my album – remember where??”

He also used a parasol and beach emoji to accompany the message.

The photo shows Dan grasping a microphone and looking down at some papers while people soak themselves in glorious sunshine on the beach behind him.

Responding to the image, one disappointed fan wrote: “Missing you on breakfast Dan where are you?”

Meanwhile someone else quipped: “Is that your stunt-double with you?”

Judging by the hashtags used Dan was referring to a hen party on Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Mirror Online reported at the time a Brazilian bride, Maria Viera, caused a stir when she gatecrashed the popular BBC presenter’s coverage of the 2016 Olympics.

The publication said Ms Vieira took a break from celebrating in the street with her friends for an impromptu interview with BBC presenter Walker in Rio de Janeiro.

In a video shared by BBC Breakfast, Maria said: “Hello Dan.

“Kiss from Rio de Janeiro, now I am married.

“I’m very very happy and thank you for everything.

“Kiss for everybody in England, I love you guys.”

BBC Breakfast airs every day at 6.00am.
