Daisy Ridley and John Boyega joined forces with their fellow Star Wars co-stars and crew members for a special fan event in Tokyo in anticipation of the upcoming movie in the franchise, Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker.

Hitting the red carpet, Daisy looked spectacular as she donned an all-white crop top and matching trousers, while her co-star John opted for a much darker black jacket and trousers – paired with a set of cream coloured boots. Perhaps he was channelling Darth Vader?

And John was later seen greeting adoring Star Wars fans on the carpet, as he rushed to sign their merchandise.

Meanwhile, their co-stars Oscar Issac and Anthony Daniels also made an appearance on the red carpet – with Oscar wearing a set of tweed patterned trousers with a black blazer and jumper, and Anthony opting for a classic black suit and tie combo.

The stars all later appeared at the press conference to discuss the film and answer fan questions, where they were joined by director J. J. Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy – and Daisy and John even made sure to get in on the selfie action, as they took a snap together while on stage in front of the crowd.

It comes after Daisy insisted that she is no more privileged than co-star John in an interview with The Guardian.

The actress was quizzed on whether her privileged upbringing – which included boarding school education – played a part in her confidence as an actress and her ability to navigate her high level of celebrity.

However, the 27-year-old refuted the interviewer’s claim that wealth, class and education allowed her to decode the rules in certain spaces.

‘Well no, because, no,’ she replied. ‘John grew up on a council estate in Peckham and I think me and him are similar enough that… no.’

Daisy later highlighted the fact that she won a scholarship to attend her boarding school for performing arts – but did not always feel confident in the spotlight.

‘It has taken me a little while to be OK with it,’ she explained. ‘I was always fairly confident, and I think that comes from being part of a big family who are all quite chatty.’

Daisy also revealed that she will not be going down the same cursed path as previous leading men and women in the Star Wars franchise – and she also admits to avoiding parties, drinking and drugs at all costs as she’s ‘pretty responsible’.

‘I’m not really scared,’ she said. ‘I get to do a really great thing with a great group of people.

‘I’m already involved with other awesome things but I’m sure I’ll always be compared to Star Wars, and I’ll always be thankful for what I’ve been able to do.’

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker hits cinemas on 19 December.
