Adding your parents on social media can lead to all sorts of embarrassment.
There’s the over the top birthday messages, oversharing and comments on your profile picture that you just don’t need.
One dad though has taken it even further.
Almost every time Riley Anderson, 14, logs into Facebook, she had a notification saying her her dad, Jonathan Russell, 33, has posted a photo on her profile.
The photos, which happen on a weekly basis, show Jonathan mimicking his daughters selfies – copying them right down to the duck pout.
But Riley, from Vancouver Canada says she finds it hilarious and enjoys seeing the pictures crop up.
Riley said: ‘He’s been doing this for almost a year now and I can’t help but find it hilarious.
‘At first it was a bit embarrassing, but me and my dad have a pretty funny relationship and are often making each other laugh.

‘He’s always making jokes and is really good at putting a smile on my face when I’m sad – so I find it comforting to see his comments now.
‘It’s become our thing, and even my friends find it funny too – they get excited to see his comments.
‘It’s definitely become a tradition and I wouldn’t expect to post a story without him making fun of it with his own rendition.’

Jonathan, a construction worker, said: ‘I grew up in the 90s and we didn’t take 100 selfies a day – so I think teenagers these days are pretty silly.
‘I was aiming to be an embarrassing dad when I did it, and then it became a bit of a routine.

‘At first it was just some light hearted poking fun at my daughter – but now that everyone loves it, it’s my thing.
‘I’m definitely going to keep doing it every time she posts a selfie.’
