Cyberpunk 2077 has sold another 5 million copies since launch

Despite all the controversy, and the fact you can’t even buy it on the PlayStation Store, Cyberpunk 2077 has now sold 13 million copies.

For anyone that’s been following the drama of Cyberpunk 2077’s launch it seems like a disaster the company will be lucky to survive but that doesn’t seem to have dampened sales.

Developer CD Projekt already revealed that the game had made a profit purely on pre-orders alone, as it became the fast-selling PC game of all time, and its sales have barely slowed since then.

According to their figures total sales now stand at 13 million, meaning that the game must’ve sold 5 million copies over the last 10 days – despite all the outrage.

This figure apparently takes into account refunds and returns and illustrates once again that while some controversies seems like common knowledge to invested gamers ordinary customers are often completely unaware anything is wrong.

Even so, you’d have to go to some effort not to hear about what has happened with Cyberpunk 2077, considering its launch problems made mainstream news, it was taken off the PlayStation store, and there’s a message on the Microsoft one warning about performance.

Of course, sales may have been even more if the game actually worked but 5 million copies in 10 days is nothing to sniff about.

CD Projekt hasn’t broken down the sales by format but it’s almost certain that the majority are for the PC version, which worked better from the beginning and is certainly the best way to play the game at the moment.
