Cuphead on PS4 announcement leaked, DLC could be out today

Big news is expected for retro indie shooter Cuphead today, including the fact that DLC The Delicious Last Course may finally be finished.

Once again, a major announcement has been spoiled by someone putting something live too early on a shop front, and in this case it’s indie classic Cuphead on PlayStation 4.

The game was originally released on Xbox One and PC in 2017, before appearing on Nintendo Switch last year (and earning a cameo as a DLC outfit in Super Smash Bros. Brawl).

But now it seems to be coming to PlayStation 4 as well, with a Summer Game Fest announcement at 4pm BST today – that’s already known to be about an indie game – assumed to be when the PlayStation Store listing should’ve gone live.

As if that wasn’t enough the listing for long-delayed DLC, The Delicious Last Course, on the Xbox website has suddenly changed to ‘available now’.

It’s not, at time of writing, but that’s a hell of a coincidence for it to happen at the same time as the PlayStation 4 leak.

The Delicious Last Course has been delayed multiple times (just as happened with the parent game) and the last official word was merely that it’d be out sometime this year.

Once it’s out though it’s unlikely to be the last we’ll hear of Cuphead, as not only has it been an enormous success but it recently announced a new tie-in Netflix animated show as well.
