Crystal Palace have reportedly rejected Everton’s opening bid of £52million for Wilfried Zaha.

Zaha, who notched up ten goals and five assists in the Premier League last season, has told Palace that he’s keen to move on from the club ahead of the 2019/20 campaign and Everton are favourites to sign the 26-year-old forward.

Arsenal failed with a £40m offer for Zaha earlier this summer – which left Palace ‘incensed’ – and the Gunners have since turned their attentions to signing Lille star Nicolas Pepe.

Everton are the latest club to test Palace’s resolve for Zaha after launching a £52m bid for the Ivory Coast international.

However, according to The Daily Mail, the Toffees’ opening proposal was swiftly turned down by Palace. It’s understood the Eagles value the former Manchester United attacker closer to £80m.

Chelsea have also been linked with Zaha in recent weeks despite their two-window transfer ban.

Palace boss Roy Hodgson has admitted he’s in the dark about Zaha’s future and is unsure whether the Ivorian will still be at the club next season.

‘He’s dealing with the chairman at the moment,’ Hodgson told Sky Sports.

‘The chairman’s his link, they get on very well and know each other very well.

‘Most of what’s going on with Wilfried is going on between him and the chairman and I can’t enlighten you at all.

‘I know what you know. I know it through reading on your websites or in newspapers.’
