Cristiano Ronaldo will not re-join Sporting CP this summer, according to the forward’s agent.

Ronaldo rolled off Sporting’s famed production line in 2003, earning a move to Manchester United where he developed into one game’s greats before making history with Real Madrid.

The 36-year-old scored his 100thJuventus goal on Wednesday but there has been speculation he could leave this summer after a difficult season with the Bianconeri, who are at risk of finishing outside the top four.

Sporting meanwhile have clinched their first Portuguese title since 2002 with Ronaldo’s mother Dolores Aveiro this week declaring she will try to convince her son to return to his boyhood club.

‘I’ll talk to him [Cristiano] to bring him back’ Aveiro said. ‘Next year he will play in Alvalade [Sporting’s stadium].’

Ronaldo’s long-time representative Jorge Mendes however says a return is not on the cards.

‘Cristiano is very proud of Sporting winning the championship, as he has demonstrated publicly, but at the moment, his career plans do not go through Portugal’, Mendes told Portuguese newspaper Record.

Ronaldo has one year left remaining on his Juventus contract having joined the club from Real Madrid for £99m in the summer of 2018.
