Cristiano Ronaldo 'set to be offered new Juventus contract' until 2024

Juventus are reportedly preparing a new deal for Cristiano Ronaldo which would keep him at the club until beyond his 39th birthday.

Ronaldo’s current contract runs until June 2022 but such has been his impact at Juve that chiefs at the Serie A giants are keen to tie him down for a further two years.

Despite the fact Ronaldo is now 35, and arguably already past his peak years, his goalscoring ability has not slowed down, and he has netted a hugely impressive 21 goals in 22 games in Serie A this season.

And according to Italian outlet TuttosportJuventus want him to stay for the foreseeable future.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been a huge hit at Juventus

Ronaldo currently earns £500,000-a-week at Juve, and it is not clear whether he would be offered a pay-rise with any new deal or whether he is willing to commit to the club until what would effectively be the end of his career.

It is also believed that Juventus are targeting a new striker to partner Ronaldo up-front over the summer, with the likes of Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Gabriel Jesus of Manchester City thought to be on their radar.

Ronaldo won the Serie A title and Italian Super Cup during his first season at Juventus, and the side were top of the table again before the season was suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.

He recently posted on his Instagram to say: “The world is going through a very difficult moment which demands the utmost care and attention from all of us.
