Cristiano Ronaldo sends message to Real Madrid fans after Champions League win

Cristiano Ronaldo sent a message to the Real Madrid fans after Juventus’ Champions League win over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.

The Portuguese represented Los Blancos for nine years before heading to Italy, where he hopes to win a European crown with his new club in Turin.

Juventus had it all to do in the second leg of their last-16 clash with Atletico Madrid after losing the first match 2-0 in Spain.

And Ronaldo took it upon himself to turn the tie around, netting a hat-trick against his former side’s rivals to book Juventus a place in the quarter finals of this season’s competition.

After the match Ronaldo made his way through the mixed zone, but didn’t conduct any interviews with the waiting journalists.

But he did stop when he spotted a familiar face, Edu Aguirre, a reporter for Spanish TV show El Chiringuito and passionate Real Madrid fan, and gave him a hug.

Ronaldo then said: “I send a hug to El Chiringuito, [Tomas] Roncero and all Real Madrid fans.”

Roncero is the editor of Spanish newspaper AS, and is another big Los Blancos fan. And he and Aguirre were distraught when Real Madrid crashed out of the Champions League to Ajax last week.
