Cristiano Ronaldo revealed that while training and playing matches can be intense, finding privacy in the public eye is so hard that he prefers to be at home where possible.

Amid launching his new CR7 Play It Cool fragrance, the football star opened up about what he has learnt about the balance between rest and play to keep his sanity.

‘I feel most relaxed when I’m at home,’ he said. ‘there’s no pressure there unlike when I train or have games. At home, I feel at peace and free.’

The 34-year-old five time Ballon d’Or winner admitted despite all his glories on the pitch, he’s happiest when he get to spend time with his loved ones.

The father-of-four said ‘the most valuable moments are the time I get to spend with my family and my kids.’

‘I have a pretty regular routine, so in a normal day I wake up, go to training, come home and see my family.’

The Juventus star has son Cristiano Jr, whose mother’s identity has never been revealed, twins Eva and Mateo, who were born via a surrogate.

His other daughter Alana is with 25-year-old girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez – who he says sex with is better than his ‘best ever goal’.

In a recent interview with Piers Morgan, Cristiano vowed he would marry the model who he has been dating since 2016.

He previously admitted his fame has become so stifling that he can’t even take his four kids to the park without it turning into chaos when fans show up.

He said: ‘Being me is boring. A part of it is fantastic. Being famous, first page of the newspaper and TV. But after 15 years, after all this time, I want some privacy.

Georgina has also been open about the challenges of their relationship but said her happiness with Cristiano outweighs the negatives.

‘Being the partner of someone so famous is not easy but I wouldn’t change it for the world.’ she said. ‘What I feel for him is stronger than anything, any kind of pressure.’

The professional footballer has been in the spotlight for a long time, becoming Manchester United’s first-ever Portuguese player when he signed before the 2003–04 season.

‘In the last 10 years, my privacy has gone. I haven’t been to the park with my kids. If I go, people turn up and my kids are nervous, my girlfriend is nervous, I’m nervous.’

His transfer fee of £12.24 million made him, at the time, the most expensive teenager in English football history.

‘When you are in public, you cannot be yourself. It’s boring. I want to be free again.’
