The clip on the leader of the opposition’s social media page showed him galloping down the stairs and looking into the camera before clapping his hands together in anticipation for a general election. Grinning, he says: “Hi, how’re you doing? We’re back and we are ready for it all over again.” He then gives his 260,000 followers a thumbs up and walks off.
He captioned the clip: “No deal is now off the table so tonight Labour will back a General Election.
“We’re launching the most ambitious and radical campaign for real change our country has ever seen.
“This is a once in a generation chance to build a country for the many, not the few. It’s time.”
Though some praised the clip, Brexiteers were quick to hijack the comments section.
One said: “A rigged election. Lovely.”
A second said: “ Well Boris actually got a deal, so obviously no deal was off the damn table.”
Another added: “Cringey grandad clap.”
A fourth said: “And it will be so satisfying to watch you lose and finally get out of politics.

“We do want an election but we wanted no deal to be taken off the table.
“We’ve now had confirmation from all 28 EU member states that no deal is off the table.
“We are going to go out there with the biggest campaign this party has ever mounted totally determined.
“I’m absolutely looking forward to going to every part of this country with my wonderful Shadow Cabinet team and all the Labour activists to give a message of hope where isn’t one with this Government.”
His words were met with huge applause from him top team making it difficult for Mr Watson to continue his line of questioning as the political correspondent was forced to say: “Restrain your enthusiasm, for a moment.”
But he was drowned out by the constant clapping and loud cheering.
Mr Corbyn did not rule out backing any potential amendments to the election bill, such as one being proposed that would give 16 and 17-year-olds the vote.
He said: ”There will be a parliamentary process this afternoon. We are going out there to fight an election campaign and I can’t wait to get out there on the streets.
“We are going out there to win.”
While many Labour figures tweeted enthusiastically about the prospect of an election, Huddersfield MP Barry Sheerman posted: “Sheer madness to hold a General Election in December & on Boris Johnson’s agenda!”
Mr Sheerman also claimed: “I hear Labour frontbenchers & whips resigning over decision to vote for December election.”
Another MP told the MailOnline: “They are f***ing mad. They think they are on the brink of a new socialist dawn.”
