Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is the third biggest launch of 2019

Crash Bandicoot is back at the top with Beenox and Activision’s Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled debuting at No.1 in the UK physical charts this week. Sales were massively skewed in favour of the PS4, who took 67 per cent of the copies shifted, against 17 per cent for Switch and 16 per cent for Xbox One.

Sales figures for the Crash Team Racing remake were decent but they did not reach the heights of 2017’s hit Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy – in fact the latter sold twice as much on PS4 in one day than Team Racing did on three platforms in the same amount of time. GfK noted it’s the second biggest launch for a Crash Bandicoot title though, behind the N. Sane Trilogy. It’s also the third biggest launch so far in 2019, behind Days Gone and Resident Evil 2.

Meanwhile, the Top Ten remained mostly unchanged, with changes including FIFA 19 losing one spot to No.2 and Forza Horizon 4 climbing one place to No.3 despite a 24 per cent decrease in sales week-on-week.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 made a comeback in the Top Ten, charting at No.9 compared to No.24 the previous week, following a 15 per cent rise in sales – the title was likely boosted by the release of a big update on June 19th.

Further down the charts, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, was the only other new entry in the charts, debuting at No.17. 81 of the sales for 505 Games’ title went to Sony’s PS4.

Here’s the Top Ten for the week ending June 22nd (data courtesy of GfK/Ukie):
