Countdown’s Rachel Riley reveals surprise football ‘dream come true’

The Countdown starlet isn’t shy about her love for Manchester United – something she made very clear in her most recent Insta post.

Rachel Riley hosted the Treble ’99 Reunion Game in Old Trafford on Sunday, making a “childhood dream” come true.

Paying tribute to the team’s mega win back in 1999, the game was a star-studded event.

The winning team, including David Beckham, reunited once again to take on the football legends of Bayern Munich.

Sir Alex Ferguson returned to the sidelines – his first time managing a team since 2013 – to take the reigns on the big day.

Man U fans were delighted to see the team utterly blast Bayern Munich at the match, winning five-nil.

Money from the ticket sales, adding up to over £1.5million, went to a children’s charity in Manchester.

Labelling it a “Special, special day”, she gushed about the epic win: “Amazing to see the legends fire five past Bayern.”

In the comment section, her 389,000 followers started a heated debate over the strength of her favourite team.

One user wrote: “Good job today!”

Though a second added: “Stunning, shame you’re a Man U supporter though!”

While a third chipped in: “Smart, beautiful and a Man United fan, I’m in heaven!”

Taking after her dad, the blonde beauty has been a lifelong supporter of the Mancunian footie team.

Her hosting gig comes just days after she broke the news that she is pregnant with her first child.

No doubt, she’ll raise a miniature Man U supporter to keep the family tradition going.
