Starting yesterday, Costa said it won’t be charging NHS staff for teas, coffees or hot chocolates for two weeks.

NHS staff need to show their work ID in any Costa store before April 4, 2020, to claim their freebie.

Costa said: “Like so many, we want to thank our NHS workers at the forefront of this crisis and provide them with a well-deserved coffee break.

“All coffee, tea and hot chocolate will be free of charge to NHS workers for two weeks from tomorrow (March 21).”

Costa confirmed all stores will be taking part in the initiative, including cafes in hospitals so staff won’t have to travel too far to get their free drink.

Meanwhile, Caffe Nero is also giving out free hot beverages to NHS workers.

In an update on its Facebook page, the coffee chain said: “A big thank you to all medical staff.

“We wish to offer all the wonderful medical staff free coffee, tea and hot chocolate as a thank you for working so tirelessly during this crisis.”

To all the medical staff out there, we salute you!

To keep things easy, please bring along your medical ID when ordering your drink. ?
