Coronation Street ‘s Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) was up to his usual tricks in Weatherfield tonight, when he tricked Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) into a holiday abroad.
Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) let her grandmother know Zeedan was getting married in an exotic Spanish wedding next week, having moved there two years ago.
Determined to bring her grandmother with her on the sun-soaked jaunt, Alya revealed only immediate family were invited.
Breaking the news in Speed Daal, Alya warned Geoff that he wasn’t on the guest list.
Alya encouraged Geoff to look after the restaurant on his own, to allow Zeedan’s close family to celebrate the happy day in privacy.
In reality, Alya was determined to get Yasmeen away from evil Geoff’s clutches, having realised he was manipulating and controlling her gran.
However, Geoff managed to get one up on Alya, when he booked flights and a luxurious hotel for the trip.
Later in the day, Alya called over for a visit, planning on helping her grandmother to pack her suitcase.
Sitting in the living room, Geoff hovered over his laptop – hinting he was up to no good.
He snapped: “I just booked us a five-star hotel. Spain here we come!”
Watching the scene unfold from home, viewers were convinced something bad would happen to Geoff during the trip to Spain.
One fan speculated: “Hoping Geoff gets lost in Spain.”
A second agreed: “Really hope nothing terrible happens to Geoff while he’s in Spain *cough*.”
“Do you think that we are close to Geoff getting his comeuppance,” added a third.
