Corrie's Geoff and Yasmeen abuse trauma sparks 145 Ofcom complaints from livid fans

Over 145 Coronation Street fans have taken to telly watchdog, Ofcom, to complain about evil Geoff Metcalfe’s psychological abuse to wife Yasmeen Nazir.

The episodes left fans fuming, as they had to watch the villain Geoff mentally abusing the sweet-natured woman for weeks.

He tried to take complete control over her life, by isolating her from her friends and family.

Viewers watched angrily as they slowly saw the bubbly character turn into a shell of her former self.

Over 74 complaints were logged after just one episode, where Geoff locked her in a box when one of his magic tricks went wrong.

However, the abuse has been bubbling since July last year, with Geoff tearing up a photograph of Yasmeen’s dead son.

Geoff has been abusing his wife Yasmeen for months

He also had cameras fitted inside her house so he can track her every move – and gave her the silent treatment with no warning.

It seemed that Geoff’s abuse towards Yasmeen was over when Cathy overheard his abuse, but he made sure to cover his tracks.

He told everyone that she was an alcoholic, and then even convinced his wife that she was the one with the problem, so she wouldn’t deny it.

Over a hundred people have complained to Ofcom about the storyline

Disgusted fans have taken to twitter to voice their concerns, with one tweeting: “I don’t think I’ve hated a Corrie character as much I hate Geoff.”

And another saying: “Absolutely hate Geoff. He is a nasty piece of work!”

And the abuse does not seem to be ending any time soon, as in coming episodes we will see him killing her beloved pet chicken.

Corrie continues tomorrow at 7.30pm on ITV.
