Studio 10 presenter Angela Bishop has gone into self-isolation after coming into contact with Richard Wilkins, who recently announced his COVID-19 diagnosis.

Angela, 52, and Richard, 65, appeared alongside radio hosts Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli on their Nova FM radio show on Thursday.

Angela will continue to make appearances on Studio 10 via Skype.

Channel 10 staff have been instructed to work from home this week, with some vital personnel returning to the studios only when required for broadcasts.

Breakfast radio duo Fitzy and Wippa also remained at home on Monday, pending the results of their coronavirus tests.

They underwent testing on Sunday night at the Royal North Shore Hospital as a precaution.

Meanwhile, Richard fought back tears as he spoke of his shock coronavirus diagnosis on the Today show on Monday while at home in self-isolation.

The entertainment reporter told hosts Karl Stefanovic and Allison Langdon that he felt ‘guilty and embarrassed’ by the fact he may have passed the deadly virus on to others.

Richard, who was speaking via FaceTime, said he was feeling ‘surprisingly very well’ and hadn’t yet experienced any symptoms.

It is suspected Richard contracted the virus after ‘briefly speaking’ with Rita Wilson.

Rita and her husband, actor Tom Hanks, tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

‘We’re assuming this is from Rita. It may not be. They said it could be anyone, anywhere, any time, such is the prevalence of this thing,’ Richard said on Today.

Richard has five children, but the only one he had close contact with recently is his son Christian, who is currently competing on Dancing with the Stars.

The 24-year-old has also gone into self-isolation as he awaits his test results, while the remaining DWTS competitors have been urged to self-monitor for symptoms.
