Coronavirus: JLo's world tour 'no longer happening' as pandemic grips globe

Jennifer Lopez’s plans to thrill fans with a world tour have been thrown into chaos by the coronavirus pandemic.

The 50-year-old chart topping star was hoping to unleash her jaw dropping dance moves and note perfect vocals in venues around the globe following the success of her Super Bowl Halftime performance alongside fellow singer Shakira earlier this year.

However, the Love Don’t Cost A Thing star has seen those plans dashed – due to the global coronavirus crisis.

JLo had planned to come to the UK as part of the plans – but international travel is clamping down as governments around the world struggle to combat the deadly virus.

“Jennifer was involved in talks about a series of headline UK shows which promoters believed would sell out in an instant,” a source told The Sun on Sunday.

“Unfortunately, the current situation has thrown a spanner in the works and those talks are no longer happening at the moment,” the source continued.

“With artists being forced to cancel tours left, right and centre, it just doesn’t make sense to push forward with her plans now,” they added.

Many music tours and music events have been cancelled or postponed due to the ongoing pandemic.

Spring favourite festival Coachella announced earlier this month that plans for the 2020 event had been delayed due to the pandemic.

“Clearly this was not a course of action we hoped to take for our 50th anniversary event,” organiser Emily Eavis stated this week.

She added: “but following the new government measures announced this week – and in times of such unprecedent uncertainty – this is now our only viable option.”
