Coronavirus Italy travel advice: Is it safe to travel to Italy as COVID 19 cases rise?


The FCO added: “If you are already in the regions affected you should follow the instructions of local authorities.”

A total of six people have died in the latest coronavirus outbreak, most recently a cancer patient in the city of Brescia.

Other deaths included elderly 84 and 88-year-old women in the towns of Bergamo and Castle Landi.

People have branded Government measures to halt the disease “draconian”, as authorities fine those caught leaving lockdown areas.

Other countries such as Austria and Germany have also halted transport over the shared border with Italy.
