There are 556 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Australia as of Wednesday afternoon, with six people already dead.

As shelves continue to be stripped bare by panic buyers, fights and unruly behaviour in supermarkets have become commonplace across the country.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced on Wednesday a ban on gatherings of more than 100 people to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

He also advised against all overseas travel – marking the first time in Australia’s history that the government has told citizens not to go to any country.
