The number of cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 people has risen in the majority of London’s boroughs, new data reveals.

The rolling seven-day rate of new cases of coronavirus shows that new cases per 100,000 people rose in 18 local authorities.

However, the data also shows a decline in cases in 14 local authorities. Meanwhile, only one local authority, Southwark, remained the same week-on-week, with 3.2 cases per 100,000 people.

The local authority with the highest rate was Hackney and City of London, with a rate of 16.3 cases per 100,000. The pair have been combined by Public Health England for the purposes of counting.

It is followed by Redbridge, which recorded 6.6 new cases per 100,000 people.

Data for the most recent three days (July 20 to 22) has been excluded as it is incomplete and likely to be revised.

The list is based on Public Health England figures updated on July 22 on the Government’s coronavirus online dashboard.

Here is the list in full, showing the rate of new cases in the seven days to July 19, followed by the equivalent figure for the previous seven days to July 12.
