Coronation Street's Shona Ramsey fate sealed in heartbreaking David Platt clue

Coronation Street ‘s Shona Ramsey’s time may be running out very quickly as she lies in a coma after being shot by Derek Milligan during his Christmas Day gun rampage.

Coronation Street spoilers have hinted that Shona could be about to die as David has started refusing to leave her bedside following more bad news from the doctors.

Last night’s episode saw David (Jack P Shepherd) leave Shona’s bedside to attend the hearing of his rapist Josh Tucker, after his family managed to convince him it was the right thing to do.

As David went to give evidence, he received news that Shona’s condition had changed, leading him to leave court in the middle of proceedings.

Back at the hospital, the hairdresser was told if his wife was to ever breathe on her own again, they would have to remove the breathing tubes currently aiding her.

Shona looks set to die as Nick tried to convince David to turn her life support off

David spoke to his brother Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) about what he should do, as he tried to prepare him for the worst, potentially foreshadowing Shona’s fate with a huge clue.

He said: “There’s other things to consider depending on what happens tomorrow.

“What if she can’t breathe?”

David insisted that Shona is going to recover from her coma after she was shot

David hit back: “She’ll breathe,” as he tried to convince himself that Shona is going to make it out of the coma.

Nick replied: “Even if she can, you have to think about the quality of life she’d want.

“David, I know it’s hard, but if Shona’s unresponsive, you’re going to have some decisions to make.”

David firmly said: “Well, I won’t because she’s going to be fine.

“We’re going to walk out of here together.”

Upcoming scenes will see David gather his wife’s friends and family to say their blessings before the breathing tubes are removed.

Could Nick’s words come true as Shona dies after not being able to breath without assistance?

Corrie continues on Monday at 7.30pm on ITV.
