Coronation Street's Katie McGylnn responds to furious looking snaps with Love Island stars

Katie McGlynn, 26, who plays Sinead Tinker in the ITV soap Coronation Street, to have an animated conversation with Love Island 2019 finalists Maura Higgins, 28, and Curtis Pritchard, 23. It comes after reports claimed the small group were involved in a heated exchange. The actress’ spokesperson has rubbished claims the trio were involved in a row outside the event. They told Express.co.uk: “There was no row, it’s complete nonsense – the pair both got on really well and were even pictured holding hands.

“Katie is a very animated person in general and these photos have been selected to make it look like something happened that simply did not.”

A number of soap stars attended the star-studded event, along with a few cast mates from Love Island 2019.

While leaving the Park Lane venue, the Corrie actress was pictured talking with Maura, Curtis and their co-star Chris Taylor.

Dressed in a floor-length blue gown, Katie threw her arms wildly while addressing Maura.

As she chatted to the Irish grid girl, her beau Curtis and pal Chris looked on.

Playing the sweetheart boyfriend, Curtis stood at Maura’s side as he kissed her forehead.

Later in the evening, it seemingly appeared the pair were in high spirits as Katie and Maura left the event hand in hand.

Express.co.uk has contacted Maura, Curtis and Chris’ representatives for a comment.

Before the TV Choice Awards began, the Irish beauty took to the red carpet oozing Hollywood glamour in a gorgeous gold gown.

The figure-hugging dress featured a thigh-split giving a glimpse of her elongated pins which were teamed with a pair of towering heels.

The diamond encrusted design featured sheer detail which showed off her cleavage.

Maura pulled her brunette tresses back into a bun, as she added a pair of gold earrings and bold make up.

Actress Katie looked equally chic in a blue gown, which she teamed with a silver clutch bag and matching heels.

The Sinead Tinker actress is set for a dramatic exit on Coronation Street.

In scenes set to air in the coming weeks, the soap star will be preparing for her final days after receiving a devastating diagnosis that the cancer has spread and she has only three or four months to live.

Katie took to Twitter to confirm that she had filmed her final scenes on the soap after almost seven years in the role.

She wrote to her 82.8k followers: “Officially finished filming today… anybody hiring actresses around here? 7 years experience on the worlds longest running soap?”
