CORONATION Street fans are demanding Debbie Webster returns to Weatherfield for good after she made a comeback after 34 years.
The sister of Kevin Webster – who is played by actress Sue Devaney in the ITV soap – hadn’t been seen for 34 years when she left for a life down south in 1985.
She returned to the cobbles tonight after her Auntie Vi died and she had to attend the will reading.
Though her first moments back on the cobbles she had to face down Abi Franklin who she mistook for Kevin’s date.
Debbie said: “Hi, I’m looking for Kevin Webster, is he here? Well could you possibly tell me where he is?”
But Abi decided with her trademark tact that Debbie needed scaring off and warned her about hurting Kevin which brought out Debbie’s feisty side.
She said: “I don’t know who you think you’re talking to. Are you on lots of medication? Because if not, you should be.”
And at that moment Kev walked in to see his sister and they reunited and after a catch-up Debbie headed off to the will reading.
She said: “She left everything to me. £200,000.
“I’ve been thinking and I’m not trying to show off or anything but I’ve been really lucky and I don’t need it so I’m going to give it to someone who does – to you.
“It dropped in my lap, it’s not as if I’ve worked for it and I don’t need it. It’s not a handout and are you not telling me it would make a massive difference to your life.
“You don’t have to decide right now just promise me you’ll think about it.”
Debbie’s appearance had fans desperate for her to move back to Weatherfield permanently.
One wrote: “Wow! Kevin’s original sister!! She hasn’t been in it for decades.”
A second said: “Aww soo lovely to see sue devaney.”
Another added: “Debbie, oh, I love, love, LOVE Sue Devaney! Welcome back to the street.”
