Coronation Street spoilers: Peter Barlow makes devastating move in search for Carla Connor

Coronation Street favourite Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) fell off the wagon last week on the ITV soap.

He was desperate to track down Carla Connor (Alison King) who has gone missing since the roof of her factory collapsed.

Last week, he turned to alcohol as he struggled to come to terms with the thought of Carla running away.

But as Corrie fans know all too well, Peter’s alcoholism is so bad another drink would put his life in danger.

Tonight, something snapped in Peter and he decided to get the help he so obviously needs.

Perhaps most emotionally, he turned to his father, Ken Barlow (William Roache) and begged him not to leave him.

“If you leave, I’ll take a drink”, Peter ominously told Ken.

Thankfully, doting Ken stayed right by his son’s side and took him to an alcohol anonymous group.

Peter later took a trip to the doctors and received the news he thought he would: he would have to go to rehab.

And at the end of the second instalment of Coronation Street this evening, he did just that.

After a stern telling-off from Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) for putting his son, Simon Barlow (Alex Pain) through some terrifying life lessons, Peter admitted it was time to go.

He said an emotional goodbye to Ken and had time to thank his father for all of his help and support.

And with that, Peter got into a cab and left Coronation Street for rehab.

Of course, he will be back, once he’s got the help he needs.

Meanwhile, it seems Carla will have a traumatic time when she eventually makes her way back to Coronation Street.

According to The Sun, a distressed Carla will head back to the Cobbles and start to hallucinate visions of her dead brother on the factory roof.

She climbs up the building site, right to the top, and it seems she is having suicidal thoughts.

Thankfully, Peter arrives back in time to talk her down and it seems she is safe for now.

Coronation Street continues tomorrow night on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
