Coronation Street spoilers: Fans PUZZLED as they spot blunder in Gary Windass phone twist

Tonight’s episode of Coronation Street was the final one in this week’s big instalments of the ITV soap.

Carla Connor’s (played by Alison King) mental health took a nose dive, and Peter Barlow (Paul Gascoigne) lost sight of her for only a few minutes and she ran off on her own.

Carla then hallucinated and was convinced she’d seen Hayley, and began following her up some steep fire escape steps.

When the mysterious hooded figure turned round though, it was Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Lambacchia) making a return.

Carla was hallucinating the woman she believed she’d killed in the horrific factory collapse earlier this year.

Rana died on her wedding day to Kate Connor (Faye Brookes), and viewers have been desperate to know exactly who sabotaged the factory roof ever since.

Tonight it was revealed Gary (Mikey North) had been hiding his big secret – and it was all revealed when he listened to a message he’d left on Sarah’s (Tina O’Brien) mobile phone.

But one viewer pointed out ever since Sarah’s phone’s gone missing, it would be miraculous for the device to still have some battery charge.

Taking to Twitter, they posted: “Sarah lost her phone about five days ago, and it still had enough battery left on it for Gary to listen to and delete messages #Corrie.”

“How logically would Gary have got the job of replacing the factory roof unless somebody did actually fall through it though? #Corrie,” another wrote.

A third said: “Gary Windass what a let down, but that episode was insane, I’ve got chills Alison King is incredible!!!! #corrie.”

A fourth shared: “Oh my god Gary killed Rana #Corrie.”

While a fifth complained: “Gary was an obvious suspect and I’m kinda disappointed that it wasn’t someone else #Corrie.”

“Oh wow #Corrie Gary is the baddie!! Excellent!” a sixth exclaimed.

Carla tried to tell Peter Gary had slipped into her room to take something out of her bag, but he was convinced it was her psychosis talking.

Standing in one of the waiting rooms, Gary looked stricken as he listened to his voice message, and heard: “It’s me, look I’ve not got long, I’ve got myself in a mess. There’s something else, something I should have told you before.

“The factory roof it was me, I sabotaged it and hoped I could pay off my debts.

“All I’ve done is think about Rana since. But you need to tell Imran I’m sorry.

“I’m sorry I’ve lied to you.”

Gary told Sarah when he thought Rick Neelan (Alexander Lincoln) could kill him on the ITV soap, but it’s clear the character is mainly thinking about survival. Is he going to turn bad?
