Coronation Street spoilers: David Platt makes ‘brutal’ decision over future with Shona

When Shona Ramsey (played by Julia Goulding) was shot at Christmas, her new husband David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) refused to leave her side. But, when she woke up to find she couldn’t remember getting married let alone who her husband was, David began to spiral out of control. But, as the two start to get along again, Shona is going to put Lily Platt (Brooke Malonie) in a possibly dangerous situation and David will be forced to make a choice.

Shona has been a lot more willing to at least try and work out how she feels about David in recent months.

But, it seems things are going to get a lot worse before they get any better.

“The way she acts at times can be quite stressful, because of the effects of her injury it’s almost like looking after another child at times,” Jack recently explained.

“He’ll shout at her, especially after the incident with Lily.

“Then when he sees how upset she is, he quickly remembers it’s not her fault.

“He’s quick to say ‘It’s all going to be alright, don’t worry, I still love you, we’ll get through this’.

“Then when he’s on his own reality sets in and he wonders how they are actually going to get through this.”

But, can there ever be a future for two people that are now strangers another after such a whirlwind romance?

“When he gets wind of her saying she’s going to leave the street he says please don’t go, I’m sorry, I’m the one who’s in the wrong here.

“He persuades her to put her bags down and come round for a BBQ, then if she still wants to go after that then so be it,” Jack added.

However, after the BBQ turns to disaster and then the incident between Shona and Lily, David will be forced to ask Roy Cropper (David Neilson) for help.

Roy won’t necessarily have the advice David is seeking though, despite supporting her since the shooting.
