Coronation Street fans point out 'unrealistic' scene as Shona's fate is exposed


Coronation Street returned to our screens tonight as Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) fought for her life in hospital following last night’s mass shooting.

Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) ended up losing his life in the Christmas bloodbath during Wednesday’s dramatic episode.

Weatherfield was thrown into chaos when a drunk Derek Milligan (Craige Els) stormed the Rovers armed with a shotgun.

In the shooting spree, which left Robert and Derek dead, and Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) injured, Christmas came crashing down around for residents.

In tonight’s show, Shona was resting in hospital being treated after being shot.

Eagle-eye viewers were quick to point out that the Roy’s Rolls worker was in a private room in the hospital.

Fans were quick to add that most of the Weatherfeld residents who end up in hospital also end up being laid up in a room on their own.

Taking to twitter, One fan penned: How come they always get the same private room when in hospital?

Another added: “Why does everyone get their own hospital room on Corrie? Where’s the resident ward shouter or the one who steals your socks?”

A third said: “See private hospital room again on Corrie.”

A fourth viewer tweeted: “This storyline is very unrealistic. Much like most of Eastenders ones.”

David was rocked by the news of his wife’s condition

Shona’s condition took a turn for the worst towards the end of the episode.

A surgeon pulled aside Shona’s husband David to tell him that doctor’s has to operate on his wife’s breathing tube and could end up brain dead.

David was left shell shocked at the revelation.
