Coronation Street and Emmerdale cancelled for the football next month as Euro 2020 qualifiers shake up soap schedules

CORONATION Street and Emmerdale will be cancelled for the football next month as Euro 2020 qualifiers shake up the soap schedules.

Fans will be disappointed to learn that the ITV programmes have been moved from their usual spots on Friday 11th October as the broadcaster offers extensive football coverage instead.

Instead of Weatherfield and the ‘Dales, ITV will be broadcasting England’s UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier against the Czech Republic from 7pm.

The only silver lining is that EastEnders will definitely be on BBCOne at its usual 8pm time slot.

The soap had been pushed back to 8.30pm on several occasions recently to make way for hour-long specials of Corrie.

However, it will clash with Emmerdale on Tuesday 8th October, with Emmerdale’s regular 30 minute slot being extended to a double feature to make up for its lack of episode on a Friday night.

Loose Women CANCELLED tomorrow for Rugby World Cup match between Japan and Russia

As a result, Emmerdale and EastEnders will go head to head for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, Corrie will only broadcast four episodes in that week, but will no doubt get an extra episode in the following week.

ITV has also seen its daytime TV schedule jostled about in recent days, with This Morning and Loose Women being cancelled on several occasions due to the Rugby World Cup.

The matches are on so early in the day because Japan are hosting the World Cup this year.
