Conor McGregor UFC return date revealed as Dana White issues update

Conor McGregor has been tipped to return to UFC at the start of 2020.

McGregor has been out of the octagon since his defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov back in October.

The Irishman was banned for six months as a result of a post-fight brawl after his defeat at UFC 229 and suggested afterwards that he was calling it a day.

But he has continued to fuel speculation over a return and UFC chief Dana White believes fans will get their wish.

“I think McGregor is gonna come back at the beginning of next year,” White told the Rich Eisen show in the US.

Dana White expects to see McGregor return

McGregor’s opponent remains unclear with many on the roster calling out the former lightweight champion.

Nurmagomedov takes on Dustin Poirier in a unification bout next month and White is not ruling out the Russian facing off against McGreor in a rematch.

“It would be a massive fight and it’s absolutely possible, yes.

Khabib Nurmagomedov returns to action in September

“It’s a very interesting division because you have Khabib, you have Tony Ferguson, Conor McGregor , Donald Cerrone, Justin Gaethje – there’s just so many unbelievable fights in that weight class,

“St-Pierre retired but when St-Pierre retired, he retired basically saying I won’t if I can fight Khabib.

“So, realistically, all these guys are looking at September to see what happens with Khabib and [Dustin] Poirier.

“After that fight plays out, I think there’s gonna be a lot of movement going on.
