Comedian Urzila Carlson thought The Bachelorette’s Carlin Sterritt was just a ‘hairier woman’ after meeting him on Have You Been Paying Attention?
Urzila Carlson left The Project‘s panelists in hysterics after confessing she initially thought The Bachelorette‘s Carlin Sterritt was a woman.
Appearing on the program on Monday, the 43-year-old comedian revealed she mistook the 30-year-old reality star as ‘a hairier woman’ when they appeared on Have You Been Paying Attention? together.
Project panelist Peter Helliar revealed Urzila was ‘quite smitten with Carlin’, describing it as ‘a bit off brand’ for her.

Urzila has been married to her partner, Julie, since 2014.
But she said there was an explanation for her attraction to Carlin, claiming she simply ‘didn’t know’ he was a man.
‘I was like, “Oh. She is quite attractive. She’s a hairier woman, but who hasn’t missed a few waxes? You know, she’s still attractive,”‘ she confessed.

Her candid admission prompted the show’s panel to burst out laughing, with Peter, 44, who also appeared on the episode of Have You Been Paying Attention? struggling to compose himself.
Urzila said it was only after Bachelorette Angie Kent introduced herself that she started to piece it together.
But she said she initially thought Angie, 29, was with the show’s host, Tom Gleisner, 57, still under the impression Carlin was a woman.

‘It was only when the Bachelorette [Angie] went, “I’m with him,” I went, “With Tom?”‘ she said, prompting more laughter from the panel.
‘And then she pointed to the other [one]… and I went, “Oh. That’s a dude.”‘
Despite the mix-up though, the new couple appeared to have had a great time appearing on the game show, with Angie describing it as ‘a hoot’ on Instagram.
