Come Dine with Me want Scots contestants to apply for new series with a twist

Come Dine With Me is set to resume filming and producers are appealing for contestants from Scotland to apply for the new series.

The hit Channel 4 show, which has aired for 16 years, was forced to stop filming last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it is now set to make a return to our screens.

The cookery contest show usually sees contestants throwing a dinner party in their own homes in a bid to win £1,000 and be voted the winner of the competition.

Contestants whip up a three course dinner and drinks before having a nosy around rival homes before giving it all a mark out of 10 in the taxi home.

Things will look a little different this year, with episodes to be filmed in a “Covid-secure venue” rather in households, according to MultiStory Media.

Once Government guidelines allow it, filming will revert back to the comfort of contestant’s homes.

The makers of Come Dine With Me are calling for members of the public to apply to be on the show from locations across the country, including Glasgow.
