Coleen Rooney reportedly looked into ‘gender selection’ treatment because she wants to have a baby girl.

The 33-year-old, who has four sons with husband Wayne Rooney, allegedly flew to Mexico earlier this year to learn more about the £8,000 procedure.

The controversial process involves doctors examining embryos before implanting those of the desired sex back into the womb.

It is illegal in the UK unless it’s used to prevent a serious genetic condition.

Coleen – who is mum to Kai, nine, Klay, six, Kit, three, and one-year-old Cass – apparently wants her fifth child to be a girl so she and Wayne can ‘complete the set’.

‘Coleen loves her boys more than anything, but she’s never been shy about admitting she would also love a daughter,’ a source told The Sun.

‘That would really complete the set for her and Wayne.’

The insider stressed that the mum-of-four would also be perfectly content with a fifth son.

‘But she has also said that if she does have another boy they would be happy,’ they claimed.

Metro.co.uk has contacted Coleen’s reps for comment.

It comes after Wayne was seen on the booze after reportedly promising to Coleen that he would give up alcohol to ‘save their marriage’.

He was spotted with Bastian Schweinsteiger and another pal at their hotel in Florida, allegedly drinking red wine and talking until 2am on 31 July.

The footie star is heading back to the UK in October with Coleen for his new role as the new Derby County player-coach.

His night out came just days before he reportedly told Coleen he planned on kicking the booze for good for a ‘fresh start’ with wife Coleen.

Coleen, Wayne and their four kids currently live in Washington DC, after moving to the US last year.
