Cole Sprouse has just done the unthinkable and broken Anna Wintour’s no selfie no smoking rule at the Met Gala 2019.

Yes, despite there being only two rules at the prestigious event, the 27-year-old thought he was above them both as he posed in front of a mirror, with a cigarette in his hand.

We’re not angry Cole, we’re just disappointed.

The Riverdale star was joined by his partner in crime Luka Sabbat – who also enjoyed a drag while taking the snap.

While heading to the loos, the duo decided to take a sneaky selfie away from the star-studded red carpet.

And it looked as though the Grown-ish actor realised his error, as he soon removed the snap from his Instagram story.

Cole had shown up to the Gala with his girlfriend and co-star Lili Reinhart, and the pair looked like actual cartoons.

The on and off-screen sweethearts took to the red carpet at New York’s Metropolitan Museum where they diligently arrived in this year’s theme, Camp: Notes on Fashion.

Wearing pale blue Salvatore Ferragamo shorts and train ensemble, the Betty Cooper actress matched her look with a cartoonish updo complete with flowers.

Her 26-year-old beau wore a brown tailored suit, which had different coloured flowers embroidered onto his waistcoat and trousers.

Fans praised the couple on their effort and completing the theme, with one writing on Twitter: ‘COLE SPROUSE + LILI REINHART=ART #MetGala.’

While another added: ‘Finally a couple that sticks to the theme.’

And we couldn’t agree more.

Other Riverdale stars at the Met Gala this year were Camila Mendes and Charles Melton in a blue and yellow couples look and Madelaine Petsch in a full-on Tinkerbell-inspired look.

Elsewhere, Katy Perry wore a burger dress and Frank Ocean was confused for a security guard.
