Code 8: first trailer for Stephen and Robbie Amell's sci-fi film

Arrowverse vets and impossibly handsome cousins Robbie and Stephen Amell are branching out in the sci-fi superhero genre to star in a new movie called Code 8, a first trailer for which has been released this week. The film is an expansion of their 2016 short of the same name, and the pair brought back director Jeff Chan to helm the feature-length version. Chan’s career has primarily been made of up of shorts up until Code 8, save for one horror offering back in 2014 called Grace: The Possession, starring Lin Shaye and Alan Dale.

Per the official synopsis for Chan’s latest:

Code 8 is set in a world where 4% of the population is born with varying supernatural abilities, but instead of being billionaires or superheroes, they face discrimination and live in poverty, often resorting to crime. Connor Reed (Robbie Amell), a power-enabled young man, is struggling to pay for his ailing mother’s (Kari Matchett) health treatment. Fighting to earn enough money as a day labourer, Connor is lured into a lucrative criminal world by Garrett (Stephen Amell) who works for Lincoln City’s reigning drug lord, Marcus Sutcliffe (Greg Bryk). Garrett helps Connor sharpen his powers in order to execute a series of crimes on behalf of Sutcliffe, while a militarised police unit, led by Agent Park (Sung Kang) and Agent Davis (Aaron Abrams), hunts them down.”
