Clever way dad stops baby from crying every time mum leaves the room

Trying to get anything done with a young child around can prove nearly impossible at times, as they can easily become upset when you put them down or if you disappear from view for even a moment.

But one dad appears to have come up with a very clever and amusing solution to stop his son getting tearful.

A Twitter user called @sato_nezi has revealed the sneaky way he has stopped his one-year-old from crying every time his mother needs to leave the room.

The dad, from Japan, has created two different cardboard cut-outs of his wife, Fuki Sato, to place near the child, so the little one never feels like his mum is very far away.

The baby hasn’t cottoned on yet

In one of the cut-outs, the mum stands upright and smiles from the other side of a baby gate.

In the other, she is crouching down as if she is watching him play.

To test if the cut-outs would work, both were placed a good distance from the child. This prevented him from running over to his ‘mum’ and figuring out it wasn’t a real person.

The creative trick appears to be working wonders so far, with the dad filming his son’s reaction to the cut-outs and sharing them online.

The dad claims that because of how realistic the cut-outs were, his son didn’t notice his mother’s physical absence for about 20 minutes – allowing Fuki to nip in and out of the room.

He joked that the cut-outs would be useful in his household in the future.

“It’s hard because my one-year-old cries as soon as mom disappears from sight,” he wrote.

“As a countermeasure, I experimented with what would happen if I set up a ‘life-sized’ panel mother.

“As a result, it is not noticed for about 20 minutes. This panel may be useful occasionally.”

Some people were concerned about the little boy being left on his own, but the parent was quick to reassure them that he was in the room the entire time the cut-out was used.

Others found the whole thing amusing.

One person said: “Insanely funny. LOL seems to be useful just to go to the bathroom.”

Another replied: “It’s really interesting! Nice idea!”
