Cleaner shares hack to remove tough toilet stains after gross transformation job

Toilet stains can leave your bathroom looking unsightly and prove difficult to budge if they’ve been left for too long between cleans.

If your toilet is looking a bit worse for wear, a professional cleaner has shared the perfect solution to get it sparkling again using a rather unlikely item.

Pumice stones are usually used to remove hardened or dead skin, but one expert has revealed they work wonders as a cleaning tool too.

Pictures shared to the Cleaning Tips & Tricks Facebook group show the incredible before and after results she achieved when she was asked to clean a home which had recently been vacated.

It looked new afterwards

It was in such a bad state with staining around the water line, under the rim and even on the base, the cleaner thought the property manager would have to replace it.

However, using a combination of a pumice stone, Lime Away spray and a Shaw’s pad, she managed to get it looking new once again.

Explaining her technique after one person questioned if the stone could scratch the surface, she revealed she doesn’t use one often as it could cause damage, but it was worth a go as the loo would have been chucked otherwise.

She said she only used the stone for the top of the toilet and a Shaw’s pad for the rest – a scouring pad designed for toilets which is available from retailers including Amazon.

The post read: “I thought the property manager was going to need to replace the toilet but it came clean using LimeAway, a pumice stone, and a Shaw’s PAD.

“This is why I clean my toilet regularly, then it is super easy to clean. Move out cleans are so much work.”

Life-changing cleaning hacks

Hundreds praised her for the transformation job, as one wrote: “Wow fair play, I think I’d puke having to clean that – how could someone even use a toilet in that condition.”

Another said: “Congratulations on conquering that beast!!”

A third added: “Doesn’t look like same toilet to me tbh.”
