Claudia Winkleman details mishap prior to going live on Strictly ‘It’s a long story’

Claudia Winkleman, 48, wowed in a leopard print jumpsuit with matching stilettos as she hosted Strictly Come Dancing this evening. However, the BBC host alluded to an outfit mishap as she thanked “Hong from DHL” for rescuing the day shortly before going on air.

Sharing a photo of herself backstage in the sartorial statement, Claudia typed: “We love you Blackpool. Strictly is on soon.

“P.s. Thank you to Hong from DHL (it’s a long story).”

Underneath fans weighed in on the outfit as fans gushed over her sense of style.

One commented: “Oh tried the sleeveless jumpsuit from this Norma Kamali range. It looked awful on me. You look fabulous. X.”

Claudia shared: “We’ve been together for 22 years and he’s never once said to me, ‘What’s for dinner?’

“It’s always been, ‘What shall we have for dinner?’ So we share, and when one of us is snowed under, the other person will help.

“He knows that in the lead-up to the Strictly final, for example, I’m useless, so he might be in charge of getting Christmas presents for our nephews and nieces… I’m not a romantic person, he’s much more romantic than me, the poor guy,” she added to Red Magazine.

The popular star also has said that she can often suffer “self-doubt” and “imposter syndrome” in a professional capacity.

The Strictly Come Dancing host said that when she recently filled in for Sara Cox on BBC Radio 2, it made her feel like she would be “sick down herself” with nerves.

Claudia revealed: “People tell you that self-doubt and those feelings associated with impostor syndrome are things you shouldn’t feel, that they’re bad.

“Well, they’re wrong. I say it to my kids all the time – when they feel wobbly about an exam or they say, ‘Mum, I don’t want to go to the party’, that’s perfectly fine.

“I have those moments every day. When I stood in for Sara Cox on Radio 2 recently, I was so terrified that I thought I was going to be sick on myself.”

However, Claudia stated that she doesn’t want to get rid of her fears, as they remind her to be grateful for the opportunities she is offered.

She continued: “And every time Tess [Daly] and I walk down the stairs at the beginning of Strictly, I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, what is going on?’ But I don’t do anything to get rid of that because to me, that’s gratitude.

“Besides, have you ever met someone who doesn’t suffer from self-doubt?” she finished.

Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday on BBC One at 7.15pm.
