With decades of video games under their belt going back to near the beginning of gaming as a whole, Marvel has made a variety of characters that originate in games. From mobile games to console releases, Marvel games are typically well played, even if they aren’t always well-received— like the recent release, Marvel’s Avengers.
Ranging from wholly new characters like Luna Snow and Guillotine to reinventions of old characters like Civil Warrior, these game characters have a lot of personality and charm with some of these characters even taking the leap from the games to the comic book page. Original characters made by the player, including in the LEGO games, don’t count for this list.
10 Steve Kills Tony Then Steals His Armor To Become Civil Warrior
Following the events of an alternate universe’s Civil War, Tony Stark died at the hands of Steve Rogers. Distraught by his actions, Steve ditches his Captain America persona out of grief and pieces together a suit of armor from his fallen friend— becoming the Civil Warrior.
This suit came with a new version of Captain America’s shield called the Arc Shield. The Arc Shield is a vibranium prototype designed by Tony that features an Arc Reactor embedded that can fire repulsor blasts, as well as a magnetic attachment on the back.

Luna Snow also has two officially released singles in the real world, performed by her voice actor Hyeongseo of K-Pop group Busters.
Later entering the main 616 universe, Luna would become a member of the new Agents of Atlas, even having a short fling with Amadeus Cho’s Brawn. She uses cryokinesis for both healing and combat.
8 Spider-Cat Jumps Into Miles’ Backpack With The Cutest Mask
One of the cutest additions to the Spider-Family, Spider-Cat is first introduced in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales as a rescue quest within the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man App. Having been catnapped by Kingpin goons, Spider-Man quickly saves the cat.
Later in the game, Teo Alvarez, Spider-Cat’s owner, calls Miles to tell him that Spider-Cat can be taken for a swing, granting him access to a new suit called “Bodega Cat Suit” which gives Spider-Cat his tiny spidey mask.
7 Sharon Rogers Becomes A Lance-Wielding Captain America
Coming from a universe where Steve never went into the ice, Peggy and Steve eventually got married. Sometime after the founding of S.H.I.E.L.D., the couple went to South Korea where they had their first child, Sharon Rogers.
After becoming Captain America, she received a new set of gear, including an upgraded uniform, shield, and a blaster lance. She and several other versions of Captain America, including Peggy Carter’s Captain Britain, were introduced to the game for the character’s 75th anniversary.
6 Wolverine Becomes A Symbiote Host For The First Time In A Spider-Man Game
While it is practically canon that every Marvel hero has a Symbiote form, a lot were only recently introduced, mainly in the King in Black arc. However, the first appearance of Symbiote Wolverine didn’t come in the comic books, but the game, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows.
Symbiote Wolverine is exactly the monster that he sounds like, with the rage and claws of Wolverine and the mindlessness of the Symbiotes. While Spider-Man can save Wolverine from the Symbiotes, he can also turn on the X-Man and literally rip him in half.
5 Dan Bi Summons A Bear Spirit To Beat Enemies
Another South Korean character to come out of Future Fight (the game was produced in South Korea), Dan Bi, aka Crescent, was just 10 years old when her father, an antique dealer forced to work for Morgan Le Fay, disappeared. Crescent found a mask, and after putting it on, met Io, the half-moon bear spirit, that turned her into a super-powered child.
Crescent is a gifted taekwondo prodigy and uses her abilities to fight alongside Io. She would later join the Agents of Atlas as well and beat up Brawn by accident.
4 Deadpool Creates Deadpooloids For A Touch Of Chaos
At one point in the Contest of Champions, The Collector gave the reigns of the competition to the Merc with the Mouth, Deadpool. With his new powers of running the game, he decided to change the aesthetics of the competition to reflect himself, thereby creating the Deadpooloids.
These upgraded Symbioids wear a Deadpool mask and boxers that set them apart from other Adaptoids. Combat-wise, they are almost the same as other Adaptoids, but they do swap powers around easily. It’s surprising they haven’t made their way into a Deadpool comic yet.
3 Guillotine And Her Sentient Sword Appeared In The Greatest Contest
Starting in the Catacombs of Paris, the title of Guillotine and sword, La Fleur du Mal, have been passed down through generations, typically falling to a revolutionary. The current Guillotine, Jeannine Sauvage was introduced in Marvel’s Contest of Champions as an original character.
Her power set stems from her ability to wield the cursed blade, which was created by a Sumerian goddess. Guillotine uses the blade’s hunger for blood to aid her in vigilantism, though she stops short of killing, much to the disdain of the sword. She also made appearances with the Champions of Europe.

One of the three player characters of X-Men: Destiny, Aimi Yoshida was sent away from Japan to San Francisco as a child due to sweeping mutant incarcerations. She was filled with anger towards her parents for most of her life since she didn’t understand being sent away.
She had standard mutant powers like enhanced strength and acrobatics, but could also use other’s x-genes. She is inferred to be Sunfire’s daughter. Notably, she is voiced by Jaime Chung, who would later play Blink in The Gifted.
1 The First Lady Octopus Was Serena Patel
Olivia Octavius was one of the most well-received characters of Into The Spider-Verse, but she was not the first female Doctor Octopus. Serena Patel from Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions actually appeared eight years prior. Hailing from Nueva York of the 2099 timeline, she uses a power suit, though her suit had six tentacles instead of the typical four.
Idolizing the Otto Octavius of the past, she used the identity to commit crimes while working with Alchemax’s Shadow Division. She has a high temper which eventually led to Spider-Man 2099 beating her.
