Ciara has penned a moving letter to her son Future, six, amid the protests sparked by George Floyd’s death.

The 34-year-old singer prayed that a ‘change will have finally come’ by the time Future is older, in response to the current unrest in the US.

Riots have been sweeping across America following the death of George Floyd, a black security officer who died after white cop Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for eight minutes.

And amid calls for an end to police brutality, Ciara – who is pregnant with her third child – sent a message to her son.

Sharing a smiling selfie with Future, she wrote: ‘My sweet Baby Boy. I pray that when you get older A CHANGE will finally have come!!

‘I’m going to keep my FAITH! I’m praying that the losses of our Black Kings and Queens won’t be in vain. Enough is Enough! I’m praying for UNITY!’

Ciara added: ‘I’m praying for the powers that be to unite and decide that it’s time for a change!’

She shares Future Zahir with her former boyfriend, rapper Future, as well as a daughter Sienna, three, with husband Russell Wilson.

The singer joins a slew of celebrities calling out systemic racism after George’s death.

Protests have erupted across the US over the death of George Floyd

Kevin Hart said he is worried for the next generation of black men and Beyonce and Rihanna took to social media to demand justice.

Meanwhile, Chrissy Teigen has donated $200,000 (£160,000) to help those needing bail money as a result of protesting his death.

The 34-year-old model originally pledged half that amount to the cause, but doubled the figure after trolls accused her of encouraging violence.

Protests have continued to grow across the US demanding justice and have spread to London, Toronto and Berlin.
