Christmas is well and truly thriving in the Hemsworth household as Chris Hemsworth’s wife Elsa Pataky and their three kids put up the family tree this week.

Just in time for the festive season to really kick off, the family, who is based in Byron Bay in Australia, where they’ve just built a megamansion, erected the giant ode to the season on Tuesday night.

Wearing their best loungewear – and changing into matching duds, may we add – Elsa and her kids India, seven, Sasha and Tristan, both five, got to work on the brilliant tree.

With the green tree wrapped in tinsel and baubles, in a video posted to Instagram Elsa was seen helping the little ones hang a bunch of candy canes on the branches.

In the caption she wrote: ‘Con cuadros y a lo loco! ?Some like it plaid!’

Yes they do, Elsa.

While Chris wasn’t in the shot, we can only imagine he came home from working out and was absolutely buzzing about the new adornment in the living room.

It comes after Elsa admitted her marriage to Chris isn’t perfect and takes a lot of work, as the rest of the married couples out there shot up a bunch of amens and praise hands in response.

The duo tied the knot back in 2010 but despite their lives looking pretty idyllic, the proud mum insists they’re just like everyone else. Chatting with Hello! Magazine, the 43-year-old opened up on her relationship, and how she keeps the romantic spark alive.

The model told the publication: ‘Chris and I got married very quickly, we had children very early, and we were young, so we’ve thrown every possible challenge at our marriage.

‘A marriage is constant work because that initial infatuation dies down over the years and you both have to work the rest of your lives to keep the love alive and become one person.

‘Of course there are lots of ups and downs and it’s a lot of work, but if there is love and respect for the other person, you can overcome anything.’

With many wondering whether the pair – who have long laughed off split rumours – had a ‘special’ secret to their marriage, Elsa told Who Magazine: ‘Nothing is as easy and perfect as it looks.

‘We have those moments where we shout at the kids and then we feel like horrible parents and we have to work at being a couple like everyone else.

‘There are those moments where you fight, and I think you have to put a lot of effort into [your marriage]. As much effort as you put into your work, you have to put into your marriage and into being a dad and a mum.’
