Christine McGuinness admits she ‘feels like a single parent’ because of Paddy’s hectic work schedule

Christine McGuinness has confessed that she “feels like a single parent at times” because her husband Paddy McGuinness is working so much.

The former model, who married Paddy in 2011, shares three kids with the Take Me Out host – five-year-old twins Leo and Penelope and two-year-old Felicity.

But, in the past year, the comedian had taken on new roles on the small screen, as team captain on Celebrity Juice – which films weekly – and as one of the new presenters on Top Gear.

In a recent interview, Christine – who is a guest star on The Real Housewives of Cheshire – has admitted that she “barely sees Paddy” and that things are starting to get “overwhelming” at home.

“I would be lying if I said it’s great. It’s not, it’s really tough,” she told the Mirror. “At the moment I barely see him. It is getting to the point now where I feel it is overwhelming and too much. I feel like a single parent at times.”

The 31-year-old continued that she thinks “the work will be good for Paddy” but she “doesn’t know what they’re going to do” when his already-hectic schedule gets busier.

“It’s great that he’s so busy. But of course I would love to see him because he’s my husband,” she added. “The children miss him when he’s working so much.”

Christine also spoke candidly about wondering whether she needs to “get support at home”, especially as she cares for her twins who have autism.

She said: “I question that [if I need a nanny] at times but I’ve managed for almost six years so should I just keep going? I don’t know the answer.”

Earlier in March, Paddy set to work on crude Celebrity Juice alongside good friend Keith Lemon and This Morning host Holly Willoughby

The 45-year-old recently incurred the wrath of Piers Morgan after a task on the show ordered him and Willoughby to trash his Life Stories studio.
