Christine Lampard forced to break up fiery Saira and Janet Dominic Cummings spat


Loose Women was back on our screen’s this afternoon for the latest instalment of the ITV daytime show.

Host Christine Lampard was joined in the studio today by panellists Linda Robson and Saira Khan and Janet Street-Porter appeared on the show via video link from her home.

The ongoing Dominic Cummings drama in parliament sparked a heated clash on Wednesday’s show.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s aide sparked fury recently, and has yet to issue an apology.

Saira and Janet did not hold back, as they debated over Cummings’ lack of apology, with former Apprentice candidate Saira “angry” over the situation and calling for him to be fired from his position.

Cummings has been widely criticised for driving over 250 miles from London to his parents house in Durham when his wife had coronavirus symptoms, despite the government’s own rules telling Brits to stay at home during the pandemic.

Yet Prime Minister Boris Johnson has refused to sack his senior aide, saying that he had “followed the instincts of every father”.

Saira told her Loose Women co-stars that she was “angry” wth the political strategist for “breaking the lockdown rules”.

The former Dancing On Ice contestant said: “I am so passionate about this.”

Janet told Saira that the political advisor shouldn’t be forced to apologise

Speaking from her home over video link, panellist Janet shared her own thoughts over why Cummings is yet to say sorry.

While debating over whether he was in the wrong to do what he did, the journalist commented that Cummings didn’t actually think he’d done anything wrong.

Janet said: “I disagree Saira.

“He shouldn’t be forced to say sorry. He doesn’t think he’s done anything wrong thats the point.”

Host Christine was forced to bring the heated debate to an end

Birds of a Feather star Linda added: “They were in a car going for a drive., not hurting everybody.”

“I feel sorry for him.”

But Saira was having none of it, and she began interrupting her co-stars with a fiery rant about Cummings applying “one rule for one and one rule for them”.

The three girls continued to speak over each other to make sure their views were heard before anchor Christine was forced to end the debate.

“Right. I’m going to have to say sorry now because time is running out and we have to go onto something else,” said Frank Lampard’s wife.

ITV viewers rushed to there keyboards to discuss the fiery debate between the women.

“Well said Saira”, one Loose Women fan penned.

Another added: “I agree with Janet.”

A third moaned: “Too much screeching on today’s Loose Women.”
