Christie Brinkley shows off graphic bruise to silence 'DWTS' critics who tell 'lies'

Christie Brinkley is fighting back against critics who think she is faking the “Dancing With the Stars” injury that forced her off the competition – only to be replaced by her daughter Sailor.

Brinkley, 65, took to Instagram Friday to show graphic bruising on her right arm near the cast she has been wearing since the rehearsal fall that led to the injury.

The bruise is black-and-blue and so graphic that even Brinkley seems to be looking away in the photo.

Last week, talk show host Wendy Williams said Brinkley’s fall looked “fake as hell,” suggesting that Brinkley “plotted” to get the aspiring model Sailor on the show to give the 21-year-old’s career a “leg up.”

And the whispers about the injury have continued as the competition heads towards its third week. Brinkley decided Sept. 25’s National Daughter’s Day was the time to stand up.

“It goes against my better judgement to acknowledge haters and conspiracy theorists but because this involves my precious daughter I’m setting the record straight,” wrote Christie. “It’s sad that we live in a time where the truth is not as scintillating as hurtful lies.”

“I feel it’s the perfect opportunity to stand up for truth,” she added, wishing her daughter well.

Brinkley also showed off pictures of herself holding up her arm after the injury and in the hospital room as well as three photos of her X-rays, proving that she underwent surgery to have a plate and screws inserted to repair her shattered arm.

Sailor competed admirably Monday in her second week, dancing a rumba with pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy. The couple easily made it through the first round of cuts and will compete on week three Monday.

Sailor continued posting pictures of rehearsals.
