Christian Pulisic has admitted he’s ‘very frustrated’ after Frank Lampard once again left him on the bench during Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Brighton.

Graham Potter’s side impressed in the first half and managed to keep Chelsea at bay until the 50th minute when Adam Webster’s clumsy foul on Mason Mount allowed Jorginho to score from the penalty spot.

Dan Burn headed against the crossbar as Brighton threatened to equalise before Willian put Chelsea out of sight with a deflected strike with 15 minutes at Stamford Bridge.

Pulisic was understandably fed up as Lampard used all three of his substitutions by the 84th minute and the United States international vented his frustrations after the final whistle.

He has now been an unused substitute for the fourth time in five games for the Blues.

‘Yeah, of course, it is very frustrating,’ Pulisic told Pro Soccer Talk.

‘But I will continue to work my hardest because I want to play.’

Mount once again impressed and Lampard admitted he’s been surprised at how quickly the midfielder has established himself as a central part of his Chelsea plans.

‘The all-round game and quality of Mason,’ he said.

‘He is the catalyst for us getting in front with his sharpness.

‘He was brilliant for me at Derby. I did not expect this level but he he is improving daily.

‘It is great for the club and a long time coming. The work is done in the academy. The mentality is great. They want to play for this club.’
