Chrissy Teigen revealed she’s been battling a stomach virus for six weeks after she failed to follow her doctor’s instructions.

The model and TV personality wrote on Twitter that she stopped taking her prescribed antibiotics early and is encouraging her fans to not follow her example.

‘On…week 6 of stomach virus. Stopped antibiotics early because I started getting better,’ Teigen, 33, tweeted on Monday.

‘I’m stupid. I should have just pooped in the damn cup. If a doctor tells you to poop in a cup, just do it. Don’t be too prideful. Finish your meds. Poop in the cup.’

Fans first discerned something was wrong on Sunday after Teigen retweeted a video of PEOPLE’s food editor making a viral deep-dish BBQ chicken pizza.

The 33-ingredient recipe – originally shared on August 1 by UK food site Twisted – both amazed and horrified internet users.

She wrote that the creation – with ingredients including mustard powder, sweet barbecue sauce, sour cream, bacon – looked ‘fantastic’.

Twitter followers seemed astonished that Teigen, who has two best-selling cookbooks, would endorse the recipe.

When one of her followers tweeted: ‘Chrissy NO,’ she wrote back: ‘I’ve had a stomach virus for over a month and can’t eat what I want. I think it’s messing with my mind.’

This is far from the first health scare that Teigen has shared with her fans on social media.

Earlier this month, the Bring the Funny judge wrote in a post on Instagram that she hadn’t been feeling well.

‘I haven’t been feeling like my best self lately. Like pretty super below it,’ she wrote. ‘I think I have an ulcer. Also I’m super cranky. And tired.’

She then added a comment, which read: ‘I think I need to eat really bland things for a month. I eat so spicy and garlic and acidic. My stomach is so mad at me. I think my organs are 1/1000th of a millimeter thick and about to go.’

Teigen also shared a series of tweets on August 18, revealing that she had a terrible case of altitude sickness in Utah, causing her lips to swell up dramatically.

She explained that she had suffered a flare up of an autoimmune condition called angioedema.

The condition is caused by a build-up of fluid underneath the skin which, in Teigen’s case, occurred around her mouth.

However, it seems that Teigen’s illnesses haven’t appeared to completely stop her from enjoying herself.

Teigen shared photos of her and husband, John Legend, on vacation in Thailand with their two children Luna, three, and Miles, 15 months, eating meat kebabs, pork rinds and Thai soup.
