Chrissy Teigen has said she got scolded for sharing ‘too much’ from behind-the-scenes of Joe Biden’s inauguration in Washington overnight.

The model and author had travelled to Washington DC with her family to be with husband John Legend, who was heading into soundcheck ahead of today’s monumental event.

In scenes shares to her social media, Chrissy was seen in awe of the Washington Monument while also sharing short clips of John standing among a marching band.

While it’s not clear what John is performing, Chrissy hinted she gave away too much as she told her followers to ‘act surprised’ by the events they see on Wednesday in the US.

After uploading images and clips, Chrissy added on Twitter: ‘LMAO apparently that was all supposed to be a secret and i got scolded so act surprised tomorrow I’m crying.’

She also shared a short video on Instagram in which she said: ‘I got in trouble for sharing to much…so act surprised tomorrow.’

Chrissy added with a cheeky grin: ‘And don’t tell your friends.’

However, because we cannot have nice things, Chrissy was then left defending herself from trolls who questioned why she had travelled alongside John to Washington for the prime-time event.

One follower got into a heated exchange on the star’s timeline, writing: ‘Hey Chrissy DC residents aren’t very “happy” right now and can’t even “happy pack” their cars to drive to the grocery store because of the military state the city is in but yeah LOL come on down especially in a pandemic. How happy!!!’

The cookbook author hit back, writing: ‘Why are you acting like you have any idea of the testing bubble we are in? You know you don’t f**king know how much toilet paper I wipe with right? f**king go away already. miserable.’

Responding to another who questioned why Chrissy and her fam had to travel during the pandemic when others aren’t allowed to, even though ‘no one’ will be at the evening, the model asked why she was always lobbed with so much hate.

She wrote: ‘For f**ks sake why are you guys always always mad at me, all I wanna do is make you happy or at least leave you with a neutral feeling of indifference.’

Only around 3000 tickets were allotted for the presidential inauguration this year, instead of the 200,000 that normally go out.

Scaled back in size it may be, but it’ll still be a celebration nevertheless – with celebrity performances planned and a TV special streaming.

Both Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez will be performing on Wednesday and were seen attending their sound checks overnight.

It’s been confirmed Gaga will be singing the National Anthem, but we’re still waiting on what J-Lo will be blessing us with.

Tom Hanks will host the special, and it’s reported that there’ll be appearances from Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake as well as our mate John Legend.

In the UK, news channels including BBC and Sky will start airing live coverage of the ceremony from the Capitol grounds from around 4pm.
